(NewsNation) — Rosie O’Donnell is asking fans for support after her daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, was sentenced to prison.
The former talk show host posted a picture of a much younger Belle O’Donnell on Instagram on Wednesday, captioning the photo, “My child Chelsea belle – before addiction took over her life – i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future- prayers welcomed- #addiction awareness #love #family.”
A Wisconsin judge revoked O’Donnell’s 28-year-old daughter’s probation on Oct. 22, ordering her to prison.
According to Us Weekly, who spoke to an official from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team, Belle O’Donnell’s violation stemmed from sexual assault allegations.
“I have compassion for those struggling with addiction – Chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children,” O’Donnell told People magazine in a statement. “We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.”
Chelsea O’Donnell has history of drug use
The “Wide Awake” actress’ daughter has allegedly not exhibited any major progress in the drug program, according to the official.
“The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program,” according to a court filing obtained by Us Weekly.

Belle O’Donnell has been in custody since Sept. 9, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office said.
Belle O’Donnell had three back-to-back arrests last year.
She was arrested Sept. 10, 2024, on charges of drug possession and child neglect. She faced another arrest Oct. 11, 2024, for drug-related offenses and was arrested for a third time Nov. 18, 2024, on similar charges, Us Weekly reported.
After reaching a deal with prosecutors, she was sentenced to six years of probation in January 2025.

O’Donnell recently confirmed Belle O’Donnell had been arrested for a third time.
“After being bailed out by her birth mother — Chelsea was arrested again — and is facing many charges related to her drug addiction,” the former host of “The View” said.
O’Donnell and her then-wife, Kelli Carpenter, adopted Chelsea, who was born in 1997, as an infant. She is also the adoptive mother of sons Parker (1995) and Blake (1999) and daughters Vivienne (2002) and Dakota (2013).
The two had a public history of ups and downs.
In August 2015, O’Donnell shared that a then-17-year-old Belle O’Donnell had run away from her home and was “in need of medical attention.”
Belle O’Donnell told “Inside Edition” in 2017 that her mother was “shocked” after finding out she got married the year before.
“The last time we got into an argument, we ended up screaming at each other, and I left the room,” she said.
Belle O’Donnell is a mother of four. She welcomed daughter Skylar Rose in December 2018, daughter Riley in January 2021, daughter Avery Lynn in February 2022 and son Atlas in October 2023.
