(NewsNation) — A judge has officially tossed out Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds after the “It Ends With Us” director missed the deadline to amend the complaint.
U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Liman signed the order on Oct. 31, saying that Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, his co-plaintiffs, did not file an amended complaint after he tossed out the lawsuit in June, according to People Magazine.
Liman reached out Lively and Baldoni’s team earlier this month that he was entering a final judge. Lively was the only person who responded, asking the judge to declare a final judgment.
The “Gossip Girl” actress, who is seeking millions from Baldoni for legal fees and other damages, asked the judge to keep that request, which he agreed to, People Magazine reported.
Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment
In a December 2024 lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni and the studio of embarking on a “multi-tiered plan” to damage her reputation following a meeting in which she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, addressed “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior” by Baldoni and a producer on the movie.
Lively also claimed that Baldoni created a hostile environment on the movie set.
Justin Baldoni accused Lively, Reynolds and their publicist of defamation and extortion.
Baldoni has denied the allegations. Lively also claimed that he coordinated a smear campaign against her following the movie’s release.
Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled for March 2026.
