(NewsNation) — Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a “low security” prison in New Jersey after spending time at a Brooklyn detention center.
On Oct. 30, Combs was transferred to FCI Fort Dix, where he will likely serve the rest of his 50-month prison sentence after being found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Diddy’s new home has drug rehab program
Diddy’s lawyers asked the judge in his case to move the “Bump, Bump, Bump” rapper to FCI Fort Dix “to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”
Judge Arun Subramanian, in response to the letter, said, “The court recommends that the defendant be incarcerated as close as possible to the New York metropolitan area, and recommends that the defendant be considered for admission to any available substance abuse program, including the Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), for which he qualifies.”
FCI Fort Dix was home to ‘Pharma Bro’ Martin Shkreli
Similar to his time at Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, which also detained R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein associate Maxine Ghislaine, FCI Fort Dix also houses, or has housed, famous names.

Diddy is currently serving his time alongside former NBA player Sebastian Telfair, who pleaded guilty to charges of fraud in March 2023, according to The Spun.
The New Jersey prison was also home to “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, who was convicted of lying to investors and cheating them out of millions of dollars in two of his failed hedge funds, and former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Giudice.
Diddy could be released early from prison
Diddy is expected to be released on May 8, 2028, according to the Bureau of Prisons, but may be eligible for early release after a judge allowed his appeal to move forward.
The former mogul is reportedly banking on President Donald Trump to pardon him, telling prisoners he thinks Trump will set him free next year, according to TMZ.
