(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump has preemptively pardoned more than 70 people accused of backing his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, including former personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.
The four-page document, shared Sunday by Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, lists 77 people in total. The document was undated, and it was unclear when Trump put pen to paper for the “full, complete and unconditional” pardons.
Presidential pardons only apply to federal charges, with which none of those listed were charged.
The list includes Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows, adviser Boris Epshteyn, attorneys Sidney Powell and John Eastman, and more than six dozen others charged in Georgia in a plot to overturn federal election results.
Others charged included those who acted as fake electors for Trump in 2020. They faced state charges for submitting false certificates saying they were legitimate electors, despite former President Joe Biden’s win.
“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document reads.
The document specifies the pardons don’t apply to Trump.
