(NewsNation) — The musical tastes of Luigi Mangione have been revealed, and it turns out he is a fan of Taylor Swift and Charli XCX.
A person who runs The Mangione Trial X account provided People magazine with a typed letter they said they received in June after Mangione sent a letter to friends, pen pals and supporters about the things he’s grateful for as he turned 27 behind bars.
On the bottom of the letter, Mangione allegedly wrote, “Last week downloaded a bunch of Taylor Swift and Charli XCX onto my table. I never really listened to either of them.”
In the letter, Mangione said he decided to listen to Charli XCX and Swift after a “phony list” of his “favorite music circulated on social media.”
“Rather than be a buzzkill and set the record straight, I figured I’d see what all the hype was about,” Mangione added.
He wrote that he listened to Swift’s “Cardigan” off her “Folklore album while walking laps.”
Mangione did add that all of his music was replaced by a fellow inmate who “scolded” him over his music.
“Now I listen to Lil Durk,” he said.
