(NewsNation) — Floyd Roger Myers Jr., who appeared in the hit 90s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” has died at the age of 42.
Myers’ mother, Tyree Trice, confirmed to TMZ that the actor died this week at his home in Maryland following a heart attack. Trice shared that she spoke with her son the night before he passed, and that Myers suffered three prior heart attacks over the past three years.
Myers was best known for portraying a younger version of Will Smith in the third season of the 90s sitcom. He also appeared as a young Marlon Jackson in the 1992 miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream” and in the 2000 teen drama “Young Americans,” which also starred Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries.”
In recent years, Myers co-founded a nonprofit called Fellaship Men’s Group, which focuses on creating safe spaces for men to discuss mental and emotional health, according to the organization’s website.
